CEA Museological Unit

The Museological Unit CEA (former Water Pumping Unit), which opened to the public in March 2004, comprises a set of rehabilitated infrastructures that showcase to the community the history of water supply and enhance the hydraulic heritage of Évora.
Of the whole, stands out a pumping station from the '30s of the twentieth century, housed in a building featuring architectural elements of international-style and decorative components Art Deco, which was musealized and currently houses the last machinery to operate there.
The CEA Unit promotes several activities: for schools throughout the year through the Educational Service Agua Contada, visits to the exhibition to public in general and also has an annual commemorative program.
