Haby, uma jovem francesa de origem maliana muito envolvida na vida da sua comunidade local, descobre o novo plano de reabilitação da zona onde cresceu. Liderado por Pierre Forges, um jovem pediatra eleito presidente da câmara, o plano prevê a demolição do edifício onde ela cresceu. Haby e a sua família tentam impedir a demolição do edifício 5, lutando contra a Câmara Municipal e as suas grandes ambições.
